Concert of Hope on November 12, 2019

Our “A Concert for Hope” raised nearly $25k to help save lives and provide vital eye care to the impoverished nation of Burundi, Africa and specifically the Kibuye Eye Clinic. The sold-out show took place on Tuesday, November 12th at Hopewell Theatre and featured the musical talents of several Princeton Eye Group doctors and staff. Healthy Living Magazine, provided by NJTopDocs.com, considers itself a “trusted and exclusive healthcare resource” featuring only reviewed and approved top doctors and dentists. The magazine says it only reviews and approves providers based on merit after they have been extensively vetted.

Lindsay Sobel’s Inspiring Story

With the help of Novartis, the Princeton Eye Group had the honor to hear from guest speaker (and PEG employee!) Lindsay Sobel last week.

Lindsay’s talk “All the things eye didn’t know” detailed her journey over the last several years as a patient through various doctors’ offices. Although Lindsay’s battle ultimately resulted in the loss of her eye, she is using her experience to help educate others.

Her talk was both moving and inspiring for our doctors and staff, helping everyone to gain perspective on how each interaction, no matter how trivial, can make or break the patient’s experience. We look forward to hearing more of Lindsay’s brave journey.

We are thrilled to welcome our new Ophthalmologist, Dr. Peter Murr!

We are thrilled to welcome our new Ophthalmologist, Dr. Peter Murr! Dr. Murr provides comprehensive ophthalmology services, cataract surgery, in-office laser and minor procedures, speaks intermediate Mandarin, and is bilingual English/Spanish. In his free time, he enjoys reading, soccer, and tennis.

Phyllis Rakow inducted into the National Academy of Opticianry’s Hall of Fame

Phyllis Rakow, our Director of Contact Lens Services, was inducted into the
National Academy of Opticianry‘s Hall of Fame! She was inducted at Vision Expo East in New York City on March 23. Phyllis is certified as an Ophthalmic Medical Technologist and Master of Contact Lens Technology and was honored for her contributions as a speaker, author, and educator in the field of contact lenses.

She also recently celebrated her 20th anniversary with Princeton Eye Group. We couldn’t be prouder of Phyllis and all of her achievements!
