A little preparation goes a long way. Knowing what to expect before your appointment helps ensure you get the most out of your time with our team.
Preparing for Your Visit

Make the Most of Your Eye Care Experience
Whether you're coming in for a routine exam or a surgical consultation, being prepared helps our physicians provide the most accurate assessment and personalized care possible. Bringing the right information, arranging for support on the day of your visit, and understanding what to expect can make all the difference, both in your comfort and in the quality of your care.
How to Prepare for Your Visit
To help your appointment go as smoothly as possible, keep the following in mind before you arrive:
1. A List of Current Medications
Bring a complete list of your current medications, including dosages, as many systemic medications can affect the eyes.
2. Medical Records From Your Referring Provider
If you have been referred to Princeton Eye Group by another physician, please ensure your medical records have been sent to us in advance or bring copies with you to your appointment. Records can be sent to us by phone at 609-921-9437 or fax at 609-921-0277.
3. Insurance Cards and Photo ID
Bring your insurance cards and a photo ID to ensure a smooth check-in process.
4. Your Current Eyeglasses or Contact Lenses
Bring your current eyeglasses or contact lenses, even if you feel your prescription may have changed.
5. You May Need Someone to Drive You Home
Be prepared for dilated eye drops. Dilation is a routine part of many eye exams and can temporarily blur your vision and increase light sensitivity for several hours. We recommend arranging for someone to drive you home if you expect to be dilated.
6. Be Ready to Chat
Write down any questions or concerns in advance. Our physicians take the time to listen, so come prepared to make the most of that conversation.
7. Make Time for Paperwork
Arrive 15 minutes early if you are a new patient, to allow time for paperwork and intake.
What to Expect After Your Visit
Depending on the nature of your appointment, our team may recommend follow-up care, additional testing, or a referral to one of our subspecialists. If you have any questions after leaving our office, don't hesitate to call; we are always available to help guide you through your care.
