More Than a Practice A Community Institution Since 1980

For more than four decades, Princeton Eye Group has been woven into the fabric of Central New Jersey. We are not a corporate chain or a private equity-owned group optimizing for volume and margin. We are a physician-owned, independently operated practice whose founders chose to build something meaningful in this community, and whose physicians have chosen, time and again, to stay, grow, and give back to the region that has supported us. That independence is not incidental. It is what allows us to put patients first, invest in the care we provide, and take seriously our responsibility to the communities we serve.

Central New Jersey has long deserved a practice that fills the gap between the impersonal experience of a large academic hospital system and the limited scope of a small general practice. Princeton Eye Group was built to fill that gap, combining the subspecialty depth and academic credentials of a world-class eye center with the warmth, accessibility, and continuity of a community practice. It is a standard we have held ourselves to since 1980, and one we intend to uphold for the generations of patients who will follow.

PEG Cares Day

One of the most meaningful expressions of our community commitment is PEG Cares Day, a program through which Princeton Eye Group physicians and staff volunteer their time to provide free eye care to underserved patients referred by the Zufall Clinic at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center. Since 2018, Princeton Eye Group has held PEG Cares Days on a regular basis, collectively providing care to over 200 patients who might otherwise go without the eye care they need. PEG Cares Day reflects something fundamental about who we are as a practice: the privilege of practicing medicine in this community comes with a responsibility to serve everyone in it, regardless of their ability to pay.

Global Humanitarian Work

Our commitment to service extends well beyond Central New Jersey. Several of our physicians have dedicated significant time and effort to international humanitarian eye care, bringing vision-restoring treatment to patients in some of the world's most underserved regions.

Dr. Michael Wong has received the Distinguished Physician Humanitarian Award from the University Hospital of Princeton for his Doctors Without Borders work serving low-income patients in Africa, Peru, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, and Belize, work that was highlighted on WABC-TV New York. Dr. R. David Reynolds leads Princeton Eye Group's participation in the UFAR (United Front Against River Blindness) mission in the Congo region of Africa and has operated alongside his son in Central America.

Dr. Sarah Kuchar has volunteered at a mission hospital in Africa and remains actively involved in the Wills International Research Elective, connecting Wills residents with underserved communities around the world. Dr. Michele Solarte and Dr. Suzanne Jadico have participated in medical mission trips to Costa Rica, Ecuador, Ghana, and Belize, performing vision-restoring cataract surgery for patients blinded by advanced cataracts. Dr. Daniel Lee volunteers with Operation International on ophthalmic outreach missions to Kenya, partnering with local eye care professionals to perform eye screenings, provide cataract surgery, and expand access to specialized eye care in underserved communities.

This culture of service—from our founding physicians to our newest team members—reflects a practice that understands its work as a calling, not merely a profession.

Physician-Owned, Patient-Centered

At the heart of our community commitment is our independence. As a physician-owned practice, every decision at Princeton Eye Group is made by doctors who live and work in this community, who see the patients whose care they are responsible for, and who bear direct accountability for the outcomes they achieve. There are no corporate stakeholders setting targets, no private equity investors optimizing margins. There is only a group of physicians who chose to build something excellent and lasting in Central New Jersey, and who take that responsibility seriously every single day.

That is what community commitment looks like in practice. It’s not just a tagline or a marketing claim, but a forty-year track record of showing up for the patients and communities we serve.
